Programs & Services

The Foundation sponsors and funds a number of programs and services for police officers and fire fighters. As funding allows, these programs are enhanced and expanded — and new programs added.

Confidential Counseling Program

Stress, anxiety and depression don’t have to control your life. The Foundation offers a program designed exclusively to meet the special needs of police officers; and the program truly is confidential. If you’re a Dallas police officer, all you need to do to get help is simply call one of the counselors listed below directly. The Foundation will pay for up to $500.00 of counseling. No hassles, no questions from us, just immediate confidential support.

Note: This program is limited to officers and reserve officers of the DALLAS Police Department.

Financial Assistance (Injury / Illness)

If you’re a Dallas police officer and you suffer any type of catastrophic illness or injury (on or off duty), the Foundation has a program that may help you and your family deal with some of the financial hardship. Initial assistance may be provided to help you deal with your situation. In the event of a serious injury or illness which prevents you from returning to work for more than thirty (30) consecutive days, additional assistance may be provided.

Dallas Officer / Reserve Death Benefit (On or Off Duty)

In the event of the death of any active Dallas police officer or reserve officer, the Foundation will make an immediate contribution to the officer’s family — to help defray the unforeseen expenses associated with the death of a loved-one.

Note: This program is limited to officers and reserve officers of the DALLAS Police Department.

Line of Duty Death Benefit

In the event of the line-of-duty death of an officer, reserve officer or fire fighter, from an agency that borders the City of Dallas,  assistance will be provided to the family to help defray some of the unforeseen expenses associated with the tragic death of a loved-one.

Note: This program is limited to officers, reserve officers and fire fighters from a municipal agency that borders the City of Dallas.

It has been several months since I got injured in the line of duty. During that time I have thought on how I can express my appreciation for the Assist the Officer Foundation. To this day there are no words to describe or express how much it meant. It just happened to come at the right time. Even though I wouldn't wish that any Officer get hurt, all I can say is "Thank You", for being there to help!
