Programs and Services

The ATO Foundation sponsors and funds a number of programs and services for police officers and fire fighters. As funding allows, these programs are enhanced and expanded, and new programs are added.

Confidential Counseling Program

Stress, anxiety and depression don’t have to control your life. The Foundation offers a program designed exclusively to meet the special needs of police officers. Most important, the program is confidential. If you’re a Dallas police officer or fire fighter, all you need to do to get help is simply call one of the counselors listed below directly. No hassles, no questions from us, just immediate confidential support.

Note: This program is limited to officers and reserve officers of the Dallas Police Department.

Financial Assistance (Injury / Illness)

If you’re a Dallas police officer and you suffer any type of catastrophic illness or injury (on- or off-duty), the Foundation has a program that may help you and your family cope with some of the financial hardship. Initial assistance may be provided to help with your situation. In the event of a serious injury or illness which prevents you from returning to work for more than thirty (30) consecutive days, additional assistance may be provided.

Dallas Officer / Reserve Death Benefit (On or Off-Duty)

In the event of the death of any active Dallas police officer or reserve officer, the ATO Foundation will make an immediate contribution to the officer’s family to help defray the unforeseen expenses associated with the death of a loved-one.

Note: This program is limited to officers and reserve officers of the Dallas Police Department.

Line of Duty Death Benefit

In the event of the line-of-duty death of an officer, reserve officer or fire fighter from an agency that borders the City of Dallas, assistance will be provided to the family to help defray some of the unforeseen expenses associated with the tragic death of a loved-one.

A Police Officer's Prayer

Lord I ask for courage

Courage to face and Conquer my own fears...

Courage to take me Where others will not go...

I ask for strength

Strength of body to protect others And strength of spirit to lead others...

I ask for dedication

Dedication to my job, to do it well Dedication to my community To keep it safe...

Give me Lord, concern For others who trust me And compassion for those who need me...

And please Lord

Through it all Be at my side...
